Hey today i'm the lucky scribe. Here's a list of what we did today:

1. Mental Math
2. We had our first lockdown.. which lasted only 20 minutes.
3. Finished our Cara's networth question.
4. Assigned a question to hand in at the end of class. (which is posted in my scribe, Letter C)

Well today Max had some news to tell us about a wonderful site he came across containing the program fractal grower. It can make many different fractals with fancy colors, and you can control how many generations the fractal contains. He then went over the Fractal questions assigned in yesterdays class. Here is a screen shot of the program.

Fractals

Hi

Today we started with tyler argueing that the Borax box is a fractal. Eventually we found out that it is because the box has a smaller picture of the box on it. Then we did mental math. After that we corrected question 6. For homework we have question 10, 12, 13, and 16. We also have to write instructions for the "yellow thing". It is a paper that has cuts where it can fold and get smaller and smaller and is still congruint. We can also try to make our own paper fractal thing. Sorry mr max's slides are not on. I kept getting errors when trying to open them.

Hello

Today we started class with discussing if we should have a pre exam or not. As a class we voted that we would have one it will be 2 days long and we will be given 5 % just for precipitating but even though we said we would we don’t know if we can or not. We then corrected the homework from yesterday it was pretty simple we just had to change the moose population question around a little. We then started to learn about fractal it is self similar (object is exactly or approximately same to a part of itself). He showed this game but I don t get it at all. And then showed us a picture where if you zoom in and you keep seeing the same picture but I did my best and everything looked different to me. Don't forget to do question 6 for homework

St. Patrick's Day – Celebrating the Green
St. Patrick is believed to have driven the snakes from Ireland. Once a pagan himself, St. Patrick is one of Christianity's most widely known figures.
The modern secular holiday is based on the original Christian saint's feast day also thought to be the date of the saint's death. In 1737, Irish immigrants to the United States began observing the holiday publicly in Boston and held the first St. Patrick's Day Parade in New York City in 1766.
Today, the tradition continues with people from all walks and heritages by wearing green, eating Irish food, and attending parades. St. Patrick's Day is bursting with folklore; from the shamrock to the leprechaun and to pinching those that are not wearing green.

Friday March 14th 2008

On friday Mr. Max read us some mind twister things by Edward De Bono. We then watched some differnet movies the he had saved and on a websits. The website was www.ted.com. Heres a website on Edward De Bono. www.edwdebono.com

All the slides from thursday march 13th

I was away on friday, so i had no time to put up the post for thursday. I asked Mr. Max and he said i could put it up today. Basically in class we bought a house.

Today we did a test on the vectors unit....so there isn't to much to write about but if you had trouble with the test and found yourself struggling then this website may help.

Vectors Review

We started off the class with our tenth mental math.
Then, we did review for our Vectors Test tomorrow. Great practice for our test is to do previous exam questions located on the link in our blog. Make sure you know how to do the triangle AND parallelogram methods inside and out!
Good luck study hard!!

Class on March 10/08

Today in math we went over the questions that we were given for homework last week. We have a test scheduled for tomorrow so study. Study Hard. We didnt have any mental math this class. Thats all we did for this class. Thank-you for taking time out of your busy schedule to read my post!

Mr.Max gone...Substitute took over!

Today in Max's Math Class, he was not here so Mr. Riche was our substitute. Our assignment is a) to finish exercise 4 ques. 1-9 (with full solutions); and once we happen to have extra time left over to go onto our hog link to the old math exams. There we are to select at least 2 questions to do (If you use Euklid you need to print you work). Here's a link to a website where you can learn more about different math topics, such as algebra, calculus, word problems, trig, etc..

March 5th

In Todays Class at the begining of the class we did a mental math. After that we corrected exercise 3 question 8 . He explained how to do it on euklid i would have pictures of it but he never took screen shots so as soon as he does i will be sure to post it . By the way if anyone must know i am pretty sad about the senators losing ways as of recently. Its so sad.

Tuesday, March 4, 2008

We started with mental math, we then talked about The Blog and what happens if someone misses their blog day, and we decided that the next person on the list would cover that person. Our second conversation was about our lock down procedure. Mr. Max eplained to us how to properly do the parallel method.

Then he gave us our homework.
Which was number 9 in exercise 3.

March 3, 2008

Hey there, so today we got our matrices test back. I guess as a whole our class did very badly, so we need to crack down and get on task. After we looked at the test we went over a homework questions from the weekend that some people didn't quite get.

Before looking at the actual question we went over a method on how to do vector problems.
One idea Mr. Max expressed was the difference between a "drawing" and a "sketch". A drawing is a perfect, to scale picture, while a sketch is pretty much a doodle. Keep that in mind when doing homework and eventually the test.

While going through this method Mr. Max showed us that no matter what way your vectors are put together, as long as they're together to begin with, they can be put together any other way and still work. This created the bear holding the newspaper picture that was not purposely created and we kind of laughed a bit.

With twenty minutes left in class Mr. Max decided that for homework we were supposed to do one the remaining questions from exercise 3. So, please do either question 4, 5, or 6 from exercise 3. Have a nice day!
