Friday, February 29

hey,

Today is Friday, Mr max is gone and Mr Riche is our sub. I wasn't here yesterday for what he taught us but I asked a few people in class and he gave us an assignment. The assignment is still the same as you guys got yesterday, and is STILL due for Monday!

Just for a reminder :

Exercise #2; 3-10
* learn what a resultant is..

AND...

Exercise #3; 3,4,5,6

Use the website Mr max provided us with and I'm sure it'll help!!

Here is a picture of some simple vector addition.
It's just simply the pythagorean theory, square the first arrow, by the
second arrow, then there is your answer that you square to get the Resultant.

Here is a cool pic that shows how to calculate a Resultant.

Started the day off with mental math. We then learned about vector addition and told us that the latest we would get our tests back would be monday. Work for the day is Ex#2; 3-10 *learn what a resultant is. and do Ex#3; 3,4,5,6

February 27th

Today in class we looked at the questions (1,2) on B-5 of our math excercise booklet. We used euklid to figure out these questions. One rule that is key is that you should almost always look at these graphs as if you are looking down on it other than some rare cases.
Another thing to remember is when you are putting positive and negative lines on a graph the positives alway need to go west and the negatives go east. If by chance you need any saved Euklid files they are on the coursework drive but you have to open Euklid and do the following: File+Load.
We tried playing a game that related somehow to what we were doing but it wouldn't load so that didn't happen.
For today there is no homework but feel free to try out 3,4 or 5.

Here are some screenshots from Euklid.

February 26/08

Well to start off the day we finished looking at the question from yesterday on excel then we got an assignment for tomorrow that would cancel out yesterdays homework. The assignment for tomorrow is question #8 and page B4 6a)b)c)d). We then learned about vectors and how they differ from scaler. Vectors have magnitude and direction and scaler has magnitude. We verbally discussed the questions in the new booklet. Opposite vectors have opposite magnitudes. We learned about direction later on in the class.
Here's a point form version of what we did as a class on februrary 25th 2008:

1. Mental Math
2. Homework Check (In the handout, question #7 "cooper's condo")
-If you didn't finish it, it's your lucky day. It's double or nothing tommorrow.
3. We went over the homework. Together as a class we worked out the question using (TVM-solver) and Excel on our computers.

Here's the notes that we did in class.

Start: Personal Finances
We've worked with the TVM Solver of the TI83+/84+. We've discussed the vocabulary, that is needed to work with the TVM Solver and with Microsoft EXCEL.

Here is question 2 and 14 from the long answer questions in our booklet

Today we started with mental math. We have a test thursday, February 21st on the matrix modeling unit. W can have a formula sheet as long as its only one page long. We then corrected questions 2 and 14.

Hello

Its my turn to blog all I can say test Thursday and before the test you should do these questions in the multiple choice 6 and 9 in the long answer the first part 2, 5, 9, 14 and 15 in the second just 16 and 19. Six degrees of separation refers to the idea that, if a person is one step away from each person he or she knows and two steps away from each person who is known by one of the people he or she knows, then everyone is an average of six "steps" away from each person on Earth. Several studies have been conducted to empirically measure this connectedness. While the exact number of links between people differs depending on the population measured, it is generally found to be relatively small. Hence, six degrees of separation is somewhat synonymous with the idea of the "small world" phenomenon.
